The glossary — twelve terms that unlock the rest

Twelve terms unlock most of veterans' Medicare: creditable coverage, the catastrophic cap, priority groups, service connection, DEERS, MAPD vs. PDP, IRMAA, community care, the prudent-layperson standard, WPS, and Meds by Mail — each defined in plain language with the veteran context attached.

Benefits language is its own dialect — half Medicare, half military, all acronym. Each entry below gives the working definition, the veteran-specific context, and the deep guide where the term does its work.
